The impetus for this song is the contemporary worship classic "Ancient of Days" by Gary Sadler and Jamie Harvill. When I used to play this in church, we did it much closer to A-o-D, usually as a prelude or reprise to that song. For this production, I've completely changed the harmonies and rhythms; the only thing remaining is one chord change and 4 words (but those are straight out of scripture). The laid-back, island-y, groove is perhaps at odds with the scene depicted in Revelation 5:12-13, but I'm taking some poetic license. Just close your eyes and imagine the scene, with the background vocals swirling in, out, and across the stereo field like a couple of flying cherubs. ;-)
