This "praise song" is itself a celebration and shows what the church is to do when we get together for worship. The main text comes from Romans 8:35-39, although there are numerous other references to rejoice whatever our circumstances ( 1 Peter 1:6-8, 4:13; Phil. 4:4; 1 Thes. 5:16). It is when the church is able to demonstrate that quality, that others can see what Christianity is all about.
