This song began in the twilight hours as I laid on the couch one morning (after several such mornings) when my special needs son got up early. Living with a child with disability certainly has its unique challenges, and every parent in that situation can relate to the at least occasional feelings of fatigue and "overwhelmed-ness" expressed in the first verse of this song. Sometimes in moments of crisis or just the daily grind, it can feel like God isn't there. But a little hindsight can put things in perspective and help realize that even in the trials, especially in the trials, God is at work.

I could very well lose my mind.
I am agitated and flusterated.
I keep coming back time after time.
I've been praying for divine intervention,
to see Your power revealed in an instant.
But as I wait impatiently,
I find that's not the way You work for me.
